Industrial LoRaWAN gateway with 4G/LTE Cat-4, PoE-PD, and eSIM.

The R1320LGe is a compact industrial LoRaWAN gateway built for reliable packet forwarding at scale. It collects upstream data from LoRaWAN end-nodes across EU868, AU915, US915, and AS923 frequency plans and forwards it via standard LoRaWAN packet forwarding protocols to any compatible LNS — ChirpStack, The Things Network, LORIOT, Actility, and others running on-premises or in the cloud.

Three backhaul options adapt to the infrastructure available at each site. 4G LTE Cat-4 cellular provides connectivity where wired infrastructure isn’t accessible. Fast Ethernet connects directly to an existing LAN. PoE-PD (802.3at) on ETH0 allows the gateway to draw power from a PoE-capable switch, removing the need for a separate power run to the installation point a practical advantage in comms rooms, distribution cabinets, and riser spaces where power outlets are limited.

Dual SIM support one MFF2 eSIM alongside a physical Mini SIM (2FF) slot — simplifies cellular provisioning across multi-site deployments, with the option to switch or reassign carriers remotely without physical access to the device.

Introduction

The R1320LGe is a compact LoRaWAN gateway designed to collect data from downstream LoRaWAN end devices and forward it to the ChirpStack platform. It supports multiple uplink options, including 4G LTE Cat 4, Fast Ethernet, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, enabling flexible deployment across different network environments.

The R1320LGe is suitable for applications across multiple industry sectors, including:

  • • Smart Utilities & Metering: Water/gas/heat meter reading, community-level data collection, and remote reporting to ChirpStack.
  • • Smart City & Municipal IoT: Streetlight controllers, manhole and waterlogging sensors, trash-bin level sensors, and parking sensors, with district-wide LoRaWAN coverage and cellular backhaul.
  • • Smart Building & Property Management: Elevator rooms, pump rooms, fire system monitoring, and energy management sensor backhaul.
